About SasEz! Scenes…
Well it’s almost the end of August 2007, and I’m finally getting around to putting this site back into respectable working order
I still have articles and photos back to 2004 in archives, but I’ve decided to start here from scratch again instead of trying to clean up previous work. So here goes…

SasEz! is just “Sassy’s” spelled creatively. There’s a long story in there but I won’t bore you with it right now. I’m Kathy - also known as Sas - and I’m a freelance writer and photographer who currently lives in Southeast New Mexico USA.
I’ve been self employed since 1997, and although working from home has been my day to day existence for 10 years now… reading, writing, and talking about it for that long has gotten quite tiresome and old. So my goal is to NOT talk about business in this blog. I may write about places I’ve had photos or articles published if they’re relevant in some way, but that’s probably about as close to work related topics as I’ll get here.
This site is intentionally designed to be a motivational starting point for me each day. I feel I’m a good photographer, but I’m also a perfectionist at times. So when I’m trying something new, or I can’t quite capture a scene just the way I want, I get frustrated with my photographic abilities. And sometimes I’ll even start to doubt that I’m actually any good at it. Seeing the photos here every day though will serve as a constant reminder: No I’m not perfect, but I am pretty damn good!
I’m also adjusting to the whole empty nest thing
I’m a mother of four children - three boys and one girl - and my youngest son graduates from Marine bootcamp August 31. So I’m down to just one child in the house and she’s 16 already… which means my life has been going through some major changes in recent years. And these changes will continue over the next 3-5 as well.
This site will also serve as a forum for life’s thoughts, changes, experiences, and explorations too. Oh yes, and I will showcase my hobbies as I go along
I enjoy home decorating, gardening, walking, going for drives, sewing, crochet, and various other creative based activities… all of which serve to be photography subjects at any given time. I also find myself at various school or community based activities and events with my children, and of course I take tons of pictures of those things too.
The idea is to post a minimum of one new photo each day here, along with any relevant commentary, story, or information that goes with it. There may be times I post several pictures each day, and there may be days where I post nothing. I’m not going to guarantee that each photo posted will be something new either. Sometimes I may dig through my archives and post stuff that I took years ago.
I will update this About page as needed and add relevant links as time goes on too. If you have any questions in general, please feel free to post them into the comments section below. If you have thoughts and opinions on specific photos and posts, you can place those into the comment section for the post you’re referring to.
And although this blog is not intended to be about business, I am open to magazine inquiries and requests
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the photos!
- Kathy

Update: I think I’m going to view this place as an online digital scrapbook for awhile. I’ve been so busy taking care of trip stuff, then recovering, then trying to catch up on work that I’ve not even had much time to add pictures here, let alone go out and get some scenic shots.
So eventually this may be a scenic photo site, but at the moment - and for several months possibly - I suspect it will be more of a scrapbook than anything else.
I may also set up my food photography on a separate, dedicated site since I have the bulk of my Stock Photography on it’s own site too…
