Louisiana In August is Hot!

I have no idea what the actual temperature or humidity levels are here at the moment, but they must be high. Clouds have been drifting across the sun all day and that sure helps but good grief I can’t believe how humid it is!

When the sun is out it’s definitely hot, but there’s also the humidity level. That’s making us very sticky and sweaty, so I think it feels much hotter than it actually is.

There’s very little breeze here too. In some ways I’m happy about that. After the stiff dry winds of New Mexico constantly trying to blow me over and making me feel like I’m being sandblasted all the time, having little to no wind is nice. But when it does kick up it’s a really nice soft breeze and it feels SO good.

This place is really pretty, quiet and peaceful. We’ve only seen one vehicle on the forest road beside our campsite in the whole two days we’ve been here. I think I’d really enjoy coming back for a longer stay, but I believe I’ll try to avoid doing it in August next time :)
